One of the most exciting things we enjoy about our annual Vibrant Living Expo and Culinary Showcase coming up August 21-23 are the amazing presenters and artists who share their talent and energy with us. Pictured here is Awahoshi Kavan, who makes a pilgrimage to our Expo to share the healing vibrations of her crystal bowls in concert. This year we’ll also have a special concert featuring Will Tuttle, renowned concert pianist and author of The World Peace Diet, along with headliner John Robbins, author of Diet for a New America, Healthy at 100, and The Food Revolution, and the Mad Cowboy himself, former cattle rancher Howard Lyman sharing the bill at the 800 seat Cotton Auditorium here in Fort Bragg, for a FREE concert open both to Expo attendees and the general public. Our students from around the world are making news all over the world with raw food demos, blogs, newsletters, newspaper and magazine articles, and more! We’re excited to begin sharing some of these links with you. Part of the reason for starting this blog will be to share the wonderful ways our students reach out and spread the news of the healthful benefits of the raw food diet. Of course, the training here at Living Light gives them confidence to do talks, demos, and to prepare the most amazing food on the planet. Each one of them makes us feel proud and happy to be doing the work we are doing. Viva the raw food revolution! Living Light graduate June Tate was featured in Frost Illustrated, a weekly newsmagazine from Fort Wayne, Indiana. Lynette Pritchard is teaching classes in southwest Florida, and our own Elaina Love is featured in a great blog Debbie Does Raw! There’s so much out there that we won’t be able to feature everyone in this blog, but we will link you up with many events and opportunities in various places around the country and around the world. It’s what Living Light is all about–spreading the word about the vibrant living lifestyle far and wide!
Well, the first thing on our list here at Living Light Culinary Arts Institute is always students! Cherie is called the “mother” of raw culinary arts for a reason–her main passion for over 16 years has been teaching people from around the world who are excited to learn how to make delicious, healthy, raw living foods for themselves and their families and who want to go out and teach others about the raw food lifestyle! We’ve hosted students from over 40 countries around the world and all across the United States. It has been an honor and a blessing to have them here with us! We’re looking forward to our next student training series–six weeks of training, including three of our favorite advanced classes: Ethnic Flavors in Recipe Development, RawFusion Spa Cuisine and Raw Event Catering & Elegant Entertaining, along with our regular three part Associate Chef and Instructor series, and the opportunity to join the Raw Food Doctors Rick and Karin Dina in The Science of Raw Food Nutrition I and II. Class series begins April 18! Join us for any segment during the series..
Here at Living Light we live in one of the most beautiful spots in the country, if not the world! Right now we are experiencing high winds and sunshine along the coast. We can still spot some whales in their migrations, but the Mendocino Coast Whale Festival is over (put it on your calendar for next year), and we’re officially moving on to Springtime on the coast! We’ve got so much planned for Spring and early summer we’ll have to give it to you in small “bites!” First of all, we will be doing more social networking, including blogging, Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube--check out the Living Light International channel, so you can keep up with us….Remember–we’re new to all of this, so be patient–we may have to catch up with ourselves…meanwhile we send you always lots of love and light!
