Renaissance by kristin

We’re off to a new start. The Mayan long count calendar Baktun cycle ended and as of Winter Solstice we’re ready to embark on a brand new era of  mutual cooperation and co-creation. The weather may be a bit gloomy and dark just now, but that gives us a little extra time to reflect on the possibilities of new beginnings in the coming year. I have a feeling that 2013 is going to be quite remarkable if we stay in integrity with our dreams and goals. The last full moon of 2012 kept me awake last night – tuned in to its magic brightness in the dark winter sky. winter tree To sleep, perchance to dream, or shall we now wake up to the certainty that we can be instrumental in helping to create a new society of nurture and care?

Every new year, I am filled with hope – this year even more so. In spite of painful events in the world, I’m hopeful that enough people will pull together in the coming year to start making a true difference.eat smart

At Living Light, we’re happy, excited and enthusiastic. Dan and Cherie have just published a wonderful new book, Raw Food For Dummies, (raw food for smart, busy people), and are planning a world tour in the new year.  We know that bringing the message of health and vitality to a whole new audience is one of our important missions and we’re glad to take it out to a broader public.

Health, vitality and energy are three important qualities to aspire to in the coming year. We’re blessed and happy to be able to help people with education and delicious food. First stop, Hippocrates Health Institute on January 4 in Florida – the 2013 Raw Rocks Tour!

Almost Xmas by mary elizabeth

outside treeToday it’s officially winter and the winter holidays are upon us. I’m actually feeling kind of excited about Christmas being so close.  At least I am right now.  This morning I was feeling quite differently.  Sometimes it just seems like there’s so much pressure and so much to do.  Anyway, my morning got off to a marginally rocky start which was enough to put me in a holiday hating mood. more gift wrap I’m over it now, and since we’re all still alive today, I think I can soldier forward with a big fat holiday smile on my face.  I’m feeling pretty good about the commercial part of it, which this year just includes my kids and my boyfriend.  Every year I scale back a bit more.  Obviously this is about as far back as I can go, so let’s call that a success!

Benefits by mary elizabeth

Vintage Christmas Card0013I think I finally have my holiday plans in order, and more importantly, I feel good about them, too.  For whatever reason, I allow myself to get stressed out about what we’re going to do when and with whom and I want it all sorted right now!  Sometimes, the need to get it all sorted results in me making plans I don’t even like!  But – now it is all sorted and I can relax.  In fact, I can super relax because after a quick out of town trip for the kids’ birthdays, I’msnowy bridge just going to stay home until the very end of the month.  I’m going to try and make good things to eat and decorate the house and just be happy at home.  I’m really pleased with this plan.  The benefits to just staying home are huge!  Happy holidays to me!

There are lots of benefits to working at Living Light.  One of them iscafe staff that we get to have a green juice or an organic meal every day!  This is the best preventative health plan ever and so, so yummy.  We also get to feel good about our global impact as all of the different businesses that comprise Living Light International are very planet friendly.  But the best benefit of all is the people we get to spend our work hours with.  I know I’ve said it before, but I really feel blessed to work with the super amazing, strong, beautiful, creative and supportive women and men in this company.  And really, there are so many smiling, friendly faces everywhere I go at Living Light it’s a true gift.  Happy, happy holidays to all my sweet co-workers!  Let’s have a fun winter and a fabulous 2013!
